Can anyone tell me if you can retrofit a rear screen wiper to an E36 318Ti. I have a line on a complete brand new kit. Will it fit with a Hartge spoiler on? I know OEM rear spoilers were different for wiper and non wiper models not sure about this one though. Also how far from the bottom of the window does it mount? Thanks __________________ Cristian G in Oz '99 318Ti Sport | | | 03-16-2006, 09:53 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Watford, herts, England Posts: 805 | i'm sure it could be done (retro fitting rear wiper) but looking at mine, i think it would be a lot of work for not great gains. why do you want a rear wiper so much? __________________ '96 318ti in Montreal Blue :m-tec sideskirts,m-bootspoiler,clear corners & repeaters .m-tech side mouldings, Magnex Exhaust System, leather armrest, F-15 gear Knob, 18" Evo 2's. My olds had it on thier Ti (when they were first released) and sware by it as useful. The minister of war and finance thought it would be good if I wanted it. I am just not sure if I can fit it thats all. __________________ Cristian G in Oz '99 318Ti Sport | | | 03-16-2006, 11:16 PM | #5 | doesn't care about you. The website shows the spoiler attached on a car with a rear wiper. I myself have the worse of both worlds, as I have a rear wiper but they electrics are funny and if I turn it on it wont turn off untill I remove the keys from the ignition Hopefully I can claim the repairs on the 3 year warrenty, if not I will have to spend many hours with a multimeter to correct the problem! | | | 03-21-2006, 07:24 PM | #12 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! I believe it is tied in with a fault with the courtasy light, which comes on intermittently while driving, so I have to switch it to the off position before I set off then remember to switch it back on so I can see next time I get in the car after dark! | | | 03-22-2006, 11:40 PM | #14 | islander on the mainland Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 286 | Quote: Originally Posted by Cristian G in Oz Will it fit with a Hartge spoiler on? I didnt have it on my first car but the ti had it and I never realized how dirty or hard to see out of it while it was raining without it. My friend drives a beetle and she wishes she had one too because we got into the conversation how we noticed a lot of hatchbacks had them, but the beetle didnt. Yeah....I love my little wiper, I never thought I would love it so much but I do __________________ my new world | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
