Mentioned you to John (the owner) at Blau Mit Weiss, he instantly knew the EWS1 vs. EWS2 issue if that gives you comfort. Enjoy the ride! PS: When you get the kinks worked out I'd love to go for spin with you if there's ever the opportunity. I live in Mariemont just up the hill from John's shop. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-30-2006, 01:40 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | what suspension are you using with the M50? Brakes? any rear end mods..spring/shock wise? | | | 11-30-2006, 04:41 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Cali, if one could actually afford a Bentley, wouldn't they have put an M3 engine in the TI.. I think so.... You'll have to give me at least another week to tweak it, and it really needs a different rear gear now, I'm constantly shifting. I'm sure we can meet up though. Ended up stealing $400 from the payroll to get her going. I still came in under $2500 for the swap, so I'm still feeling ok. The car sounds impressive for the thrown together 325 exhaust... Before and after pictures..... I'll post more tomorrow that show the final product. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 11-30-2006, 04:49 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Quote: Originally Posted by Panzer_M what suspension are you using with the M50? I need to flush the brake fluid badly, then see where I'm at. No mods on the back end. I like the ride height and comfort, so everything is staying for now. The suspension was all replaced by the last owner, so its got plenty of life yet. I need a different rear end gear. Way too many RPMs for the highway for sure. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 11-30-2006, 05:04 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | So your using 318ti springs/shocks with the M50 engine? how does it feel it front, too heavy or still snappy? | | | 01-28-2007, 10:14 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Iasi, Romania Posts: 101 | Quote: Originally Posted by Panzer_M So your using 318ti springs/shocks with the M50 engine? how does it feel it front, too heavy or still snappy? | I would also like to know the answer to that question. | | | 01-29-2007, 03:10 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Its not too heavy for the street at all. I have no plans for racing of any kind except to work and back. I can take a highway interchange loop just as fast as I could before. Maybe an M3 sway in the future, but nothing major by any means. I'm starting to work on its appearance now. Nearly 4k on the swap setup now. No problems at all. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 02-08-2007, 11:25 AM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Iasi, Romania Posts: 101 | Quote: Originally Posted by campaiar Ok, so I went by the dealership on my way home last night, and found the ti to be sitting in the exact place I left it two days ago. So the whole thing about needing extra labor hours is probably bogus. The hood was opened, so I peeked under for a bit. Yep, that engine still looks sweet under there... Still rather silent, but it looks good. NOTHING was apart, or looked out of place at all. I began to get really curious. I headed in and talked to the service guy. He told me they have done all the diagnosis in the parking lot so far because it was a nice day, but they were going to get it back in the garage in a few minutes... Sure you were... Anyhow, I told him to let me know how it goes. I stolled by it again on my way out, checking out the engine bay again before putting the hood down. An hour and a half later he calls and says its running. He indicated that not only was the DME + & - feeds backwards, so were the + & - leads going to the EWS component. I'm looking forward to examining my Bentley tonight when I get home to determine if that's indeed the case. I'm picking it up at lunch.. | I finished my swap. The motor cracks but won't start. Can you tell me what the dealer did to start your car. I think I face the same ews dme problems as you had. | | | 02-08-2007, 08:27 PM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | I can tell you only what the service receipt says since I wasn't actually there when they worked on it. The + & - feeds to the DME and EWS were backwards. There was a wire that I had grounded to the body near the battery that actually belonged on the positive battery terminal. Thats really all that is mentioned. I wish I could offer more help. If you need me to take pictures of anything let me know. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 02-08-2007, 10:30 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Iasi, Romania Posts: 101 | Can you take a picture to the wire than was grounded and belonged on the positive cable? The main one located by the headers near the motor mount. Be more detailed, i might be able to answer your questions. There are lots of grounds, be specific as to which one __________________ Mmm.. | | | 02-16-2007, 09:33 PM | #29 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Iasi, Romania Posts: 101 | Quote: Originally Posted by scabzzzz Make sure you got your fuel pump grounds hooked up and make sure you have the engine ground hooked up (took me hours to figure that one out). I didn't connected the second + wire to the battery you know the smaller black one that I think feeds the DME power. | | | 02-16-2007, 09:46 PM | #30 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Cashville,TN Posts: 124 | Yeah at some point it feeds the dme power. Cool.
