Default Need a new nose panel. Can any e36 fit?

My front nose panel is beyond repair and will be looking for another one. Grills are O.K. Can I use any e36 panel or do I have to stay with the Ti? Which years would fit? Thanks in advance.

Any fit and since you have a 96, you should have the pre facelift nosepanel unless its latemodel and you have the postfacelift. Buy the panel that matches your current kidneys or purchase a new nosepanel with new kidneys for it.

I know that from the a pillars forward we use the same as sedans (a pillars, hood, corner lights, fenders). I guess I just assumed that was the case for the nose panel.

Maybe its like the bumper and headlights, where any e36 will fit...

I would trust bluebimma, as he is like a ti guru...

Man, this is driving me crazy. I just googled 1995 BMW 318ti front bumper to see if the front nose panel is different than a '98. They look the same. You're saying there was a face lift one year and the design changed? Thanks

Yes, there was a change, as bluebimma has noted. It was very subtle, but if you look closely, you can see the difference between the two grills.

1995 E36:

1998 E36:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the two nose panels are interchangeable. However, if you want to reuse your existing grills, you will need to get the nose panel that is correct for your model year.

All e36 nose panels are interchangeable. coupe, sedan, vert, compact, makes no difference. Only thing as stated above is the kidney grille change. If you like the new style grilles, get the '97+ nose panel. If you like the recessed grilles, get the '96 and older nose panel. Also, beware most of the nose panels sold on ebay are plastic.

No worries man. The front fenders, hood, engine compartment, corner lights, mirrors, window regulators and maybe the windshields are shared with the e36 sedan. The nose panel, front bumper, side skirts, fog lights and headlights are interchangeable with all e36's(except the Z3 of course). The sidemarker lights are also interchangeable between all e36's, however they changed styles a year after the nose panels changed. One should note that like the newer kidney grilles not fitting in the older nose panel or vice versa, the newer sidemarkers will not fit in the older fenders or vice versa. The BMW roundels are the same for all e36's except the convertible which uses a smaller roundel on the rear. Almost everything else is ti specific.

It seems a few people on Maxbimmer forum think its only the sedan parts that are interchangable , now im all confused again!

I hoestly doubt them as Im sure the poeple here know TI's better than the comman e36 driver but...any input to confirm?
