My 332ti is officially legal in California, got it passed by the BAR referee yesterday. Off to the DMV to get it registered next week and get my California Plates. 96Ti with an S52 swap with M3 5 speed, M3 front brakes, Z3M rear trailing arms and brakes, cool carbon pads all around, 3.73 lsd, M3 Ltw 5 spoke wheels with Hankook RS-3 tires (235/40/17's) and all the $)(*@&% smog control stuff California wants. | | | 01-12-2014, 09:05 PM | #127 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2014 Location: Aylesbury, Bucks,Uk Posts: 22 | Any one got pictures of the exhaust fab done on 2.8 swap | | | 01-13-2014, 02:31 AM | #128 | Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: US Posts: 46 | 95 club sport. swapped s50 on 4/1/97 w/13k....been creating smiles ever since! | | | 03-04-2014, 07:00 AM | #129 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | I have a '96 sunroof-less Calypsorot chassis from Italy that came with an M44 & Getrag 5-speed. Had 200k on the chassis when I completed the swap in August 2013. Swapped in a '97 328i M52 engine (with 114k), ECU, dash cluster & front suspension. Used a ZF trans, shifter and driveshaft out of a '96 328ic (direct bolt-in). Diff (3.25 w/LSD) out of an E28, and axles from an E30. Lightweight flywheel/clutch. Complete suspension & brake rebuild, including Koni single-adjustables all 'round, H&R Sport springs (318ti set; front sits too low!), Polyflex purple bushings throughout, and factory x-brace. Engine mount reinforcements welded-in. Racing Dynamics 28mm & 19mm sways for a Z3 ready to go in. Glass-matt Miata battery moved to trunk. Magnaflow two-into-one muffler completes the sleeper look but sounds roarty. | | | 06-04-2014, 07:32 PM | #130 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2014 Location: Oregon Posts: 1 | About three weeks ago, I picked up a sunroofless, '96 with ratty Boston green paint, a full TC Design roll cage, Moton Clubsport double adjustable shocks, a DTM style trailing arm rear suspension, and a complete 2002 M-roadster drivetrain (minus the transmission that's E36 M3). Includes a partially stripped 2002 M-roadster wiring harness (engine and body), and, yes that means its running an S54 engine with stock computer. Its a beast, but needs a lot of development. Once the fuel starvation is fixed (thanks Dan I) I have a 3.73 differential to install, need to find a E46 M3 airbox/intake muffler, need to reflash the computer from M-roadster to M3 tune, then I need aero, suspension setup training and more rubber... I used a z3 exhaust and a set of ebay headers. Already had a E30 diff in the car and 328 front brakes. | | | 07-10-2014, 05:42 PM | #132 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Another lsx 318ti here. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 07-10-2014, 07:25 PM | #133 | Member Join Date: Jan 2014 Location: Raleigh, NC Posts: 44 | 1998 318ti M3 swap, 1995 328 swap hoping to get the other '98 sport base i have swapped for a 350 by the end of the year. __________________ 1998 318ti sport M3Swap 1996 318ti Base Sold. 1995 318ti 328 swap Sold. 1998 318ti sport base Sold. 1997 318ti Base | | | 03-09-2015, 12:20 AM | #134 | Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Fernandina Beach, Florida Posts: 39 | 1998 318ti with 98 2.8 block & 5-speed trans and 95 S50 head with cams and intake manifold, light flywheel, 328 brakes, 235 40 x 17's, 3.45 locker, adjustable suspension with camber plates, headers and 3" exhaust.
