I know the description states that it's got the original motor, but calling it an "M3 Compact" implies that it's had an M3 motor swap. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! And Roadrash is right - putting "M3" in the title is a mistake. People who know BMWs will know that it's not an M3, and they'll think you're a scammer. People who don't know BMWs won't be impressed, because they won't know what it means. | | | 09-19-2015, 05:37 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 33 | thanks for the input, Ive corrected the title and the price is obo, I haven't really seen too many listings of such a clean example. Im sure I can find 318ti's for 800-2000 all day making my prize ridiculous. Appreciate any and all feedback. | | | 09-19-2015, 01:08 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: philadelphia Posts: 217 | Pricing My experience with CL is that if the object is priced right, it will get a lot of responses very quickly. That said, doesn't mean your price is impossible. But you are asking pristine money and this car still needs several minor repairs that you listed. My thoughts are that for anywhere near that price, it would need to be 100% sorted. And since it is mainly the 318ti community that thinks they are "future" classics and worth 2x/3x or even 4x what kbb/nada would indicate, those are likely your best choice for possible buyers. Except that is a very small pool of people to draw from. And don't forget, for that price you could get an actual M3. So you have a lot of challenges in your way. Id suggest fixing all of the niggles and relisting. If you don't get interest or offers. be prepared to keep it or substantially less. | | | 09-19-2015, 05:02 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Seattle Posts: 513 | I don't think that it is too bad. I've seen some at this price point before. I am assuming you are not in a hurry to sell. You're description could use some help for that kind of cash though. Could spend more time there. One owner? More maintenence records and maybe a colorful story or other entertainment. The whole M3 issue does muddy it up. CL is a place where people oft put their pie in sky price. Cash in hand changes things. This feels like the case here. | | | 09-29-2015, 11:58 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2015 Location: california Posts: 13 | sorry to poop in your thread. but where, when, what, how, why and who came up with this "niggle" term? that doesn't even make sense, what does it even mean? ALSO, i am selling a 1999 Alpine White BMW 318ti M-tech Edition with 192k miles on it, for a mere $6,100. So your price point is correct! We should not accept less for these particularly rare 1999 models. | | | 09-29-2015, 12:09 PM | #10 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by wills318ti sorry to poop in your thread. but where, when, what, how, why and who came up with this "niggle" term? that doesn't even make sense, what does it even mean? | It's a word... look it up. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Shame we don't have a resource available to us at our fingertips where we can look things up. Last edited by roadrash; 09-30-2015 at 02:09 AM.
