Default Subwoofer wiring heat shield

Hopefully this is the right place to ask, tried searching and couldn't find anything related. I've recently installed a sub with the power cable running through the grommet and entering the engine bay under the battery. I noticed there is a fair bit of heat shielding there and wondering how hot it gets... should I be protecting my power cable there If so what would be the best way to go about this?
