Not too sure on how much money, but I'm pretty sure it's sufficient for a set of wheels & tires. I love the look of both the Style 24s and the Style 39s. I know I've seen pics of the Style 39 on a ti, but I'm not sure I've seen any of the Style 24. If anyone could please post up some shots I'd appreciate it (real busy the rest of the week). A single shot with a ti wearing 24s next to one wearing 39s would be even better. Pretty sure I want a staggered set, and dead-set on a pair of OEs, not replicas. I'd also like wheels in extremely good to excellent shape. If anyone is selling, get in touch with me. Unfortunately, they make me really want a set of each (one for daily driving, one for eventually autocrossing). I think I used to like the 39s better, but seeing them both on our car, I think I am leaning a little towards the 24s now. Think I'm going to add a poll. If you can find a set of stamped and staggered lightweights (style 24s) don't hesitate to pick them up, they are awesome wheels. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 02-04-2010, 10:13 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Merritt Island, FL Posts: 351 | Quote: Originally Posted by Borg561 So, I have some insurance money coming to me soon, and I'm finally able to seriously look at getting a second set of rims. That's one thing I like about my Style 43's, they're easy to clean. The DS1's do look good, though. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! But with good cause. They are OEM two piece bangers, and sure to get good looks. I would say go with those. Im not sure which style they are...but I like Marv's set also. If none of those are appealing to you, I would say go with the DSII's Spider posted. __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII | | | 02-04-2010, 11:40 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | The only problem with the style 5's is that the ones with a good lip are the 5 series offset. This limits the tire width and usually requires a fender roll and stretched tire. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 02-04-2010, 11:54 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Long Beach, SoCal Posts: 373 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri The only problem with the style 5's is that the ones with a good lip are the 5 series offset. If you are refferring to 17's(style 5) as "good lip" I guess if you run a race suspension setup you will have to deal with that sort of thing. I've got 18's and run a sport spring. no rubbing invloved. __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII | | | 02-05-2010, 02:28 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Omaha, NE Posts: 737 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri If you can find a set of stamped and staggered lightweights (style 24s) don't hesitate to pick them up, they are awesome wheels. | That's where I've seen them before, the E36 M3 Lightweight. They were familiar to me, but I couldn't place it. If I can find a good used set for the right price I'll get them. New, not going to happen ($2k for the wheels alone from BavAuto). The Style 39s do look like a b*tch to clean (as do the Style 5s), and I think that is part of the reason I'm leaning towards the 24s, if I can find them. The DS1's, I don't know, I don't really like the flat look around the center and they also look like a bit of a pain to clean. I kinda like the Style 5s, but my third choice would probably be the Style 19s. Only problem with those is the E36 offset seems to be very difficult to find and the lip on the rear wheel doesn't look as good as it did on the E39 540i Sport. Don't suppose anyone has a part# for the E36 fitment 19s? I'm curious what Bav Auto and Pelican are pricing those at. Right now I think my order of preference is 24s, 39s, 19s, then 5s. That said, I prefer them over my DS1's and would swap them out in a heartbeat if I had extra $$ lying around... I have never seen a set of Style 19's for a e36 for sale (but that doesn't mean they don't exist), all the sets I've seen were off 5-series cars and have the same fitment concerns as Style 5's... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. And considering I don't like the look of the E36 fitment as much as the E39 fitment, I think I'll pass. For comparison sake if anyone is interested, below is how much a set of each would cost new from BavAuto and Pelican (wheels, center caps, emblems; no bolts, valves or shipping) Style 19 - BavAuto: $1,921.35; Pelican - $2,080.50 Style 24 - BavAuto: $2,131.60; Pelican - $2,381.50 Style 39 - BavAuto: $1,283.40; Pelican - $1,393.00 Note the 19s are not a staggered set, the other two are. If I can't find a decent used set, the 39s are looking really attractive right now (considering a set of tires will run $750-800). Don't suppose anyone has a pic of a Nogaro Silver wheel with polished lip on a black car? Doesn't have to be a Style 24, just curious how the color looks. See pic below.
