i have the same situation when i swap you need to change the trans linkage because the TI linkage is different fronm the other e36/// you need the #1 and #9 parts...

I agree with Father. In the pics on your BF.C thread it looks as if the shifter carrier (part#1) is too short. The shifter should be pretty much centered in the hole and yours is too far forward.

There are several problems with this I think. My shift lever was backwards. I turned it around today and its much better. I have my console back together and its hitting all gears so I can live with it for now.
