First, I could use a new wheel. Would really like the red/blue stitch 4 spoke M3 wheel since it would match the rest of the M trim in the car. I can use my current airbag so no airbag is required, but if you have the M airbag with the M wheel I don't mind buying that as well. Must be CLEAN however. Please, no exccessive leather wear as mine is very worn out on top already. Also need a shift knob. Would love an illuminated M knob but will gladly take any other nice leather Ti knob from a "sport" model. Again, no excessive wear please. I'm in SoCal (LA OC area) and if anyone locally has something I have no problem paying cash. Thanks!!! It's free, though - just pay for the shipping. | | | 10-30-2009, 12:59 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | The M 4-spoke uses a different airbag anyway. | | | 10-30-2009, 05:11 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 178 | Quote: Originally Posted by pnosker The M 4-spoke uses a different airbag anyway. | It has an airbag. | | | 10-30-2009, 06:09 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | I know, but I think TIFreak found out that they do not fit or something like that. Maybe the connectors are wrong. | | | 10-30-2009, 08:52 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Long Beach, CA Posts: 23 | Hmm... I was reading around and it seemed like people were saying there was no difference in any of the wheels post '96. If that's not the case that sorta stinks. Anyway, PM sent on the '96 wheel. | | | 10-30-2009, 09:24 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 178 | Here are some pics of the wheel. | | | 10-30-2009, 09:25 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 178 | And more: | | | 10-31-2009, 02:34 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by pnosker I know, but I think TIFreak found out that they do not fit or something like that. I think you have the wrong person since I've never actually had the wheels to try it | | | 10-31-2009, 03:33 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Ok maybe I'm crazy... lol. Someone had two wheels and tried to swap them and they didn't have the same connectors or something. | | | 10-31-2009, 05:29 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: New Orleans Posts: 970 | think your thinking of me, if you get a 95+ 4 spoke m3 wheel you need the switch holder, horn button slider, airbag is direct plug-in, horn splice wire into came colored wire, airbag is different though, completely different shape __________________ ^being rebuilt^ until then: daily car: 96' Blue DASC'd ti with koni coilovers slowly progressing... weekend car: 85 1/2' 944 Porsche no a/c, p/s, gutted cat, loud as hell exhaust, loud as hell sound system | | | 10-31-2009, 06:42 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Ahh... sorry about that. My 97 ti airbag will not fit on the wheel without modification of the wiring. The connectors from the wheel to the car are also different as stated by minicoop. | | | 11-01-2009, 12:07 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Long Beach, CA Posts: 23 | Well, I found a nice clean standard wheel to replace mine (thanks DGW!) so no worries on the M3 fit. I would still like to find a new or nice slightly used shift knob so bump for one of those. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
