ok so to some it up.. im stumped lol.
on occasion i'll jump in and start the car just fine.. but other times it'll crank try to idle but die out. it throws a CEL but i havent been able to pull it, reason why... once i start it and rev it past 2.5k-3k the cel goes away and engine stays running..

why cant you pull the code? engine doesnt need to be running to scan the car. __________________

Well before you go throwing parts at it, try to verify that it is in fact the problem. Next time it does it, get out and wiggle the wire. You might also pull the sensor out and see if it's caked with grease. If it's what I think it is, it's just a magnetic pulse generator like the speed sensor and ABS sensors. It's just a magnet with two tiny wires attached to it, nothing really much to go wrong with them except maybe getting dirty or the wires becoming loose. I could be wrong though.
