I've only seen M3s in that color. Although Dakar Yellow was available in the UK so I take that back. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-25-2005, 04:50 AM | #4 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | i have a 96 that's aqua metallic. also, that just looks like way too many colors for bmw to offer on our lowly (but beloved) it __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 12-25-2005, 12:25 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Im washed with Montreal Blue 96' | | | 12-27-2005, 02:08 AM | #6 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | BMW Individual (for the rest of the world) offered every color including one that I wanted to get, that I could not. They had a nice blue that matched the blue of the Motorsport stripes. I saw it in one of my original catalogues for the car. It had M-Contours on it as well, and it looked good! | | | 12-27-2005, 04:15 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | Here you go J!m. I had to make numerous call until BMW finally agreed. It was and additional $1500 and no gaurantee when it was going to be built. Since there already was a UK model that came in Dakar Yellow it really should not have been a big deal. It was not work $1500 and looking back I'm glad I didn't. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-27-2005, 06:10 AM | #11 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | i'm really contemplating what color i should get my "rebuilt" ti shot in. since it'll be a year or two (need to get all the m-tech pieces and will probably have the fenders rolled too), i guess i have awhile to think about it. i'll probably stick with a bmw color, but not necessarily one that was possible on the ti. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 12-27-2005, 06:33 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | I think someone on our forum has a Dakar ti... I forgot who it was though. I'll figure it out... Mischief, in the first picture you posted it looks like it might have been repainted (maybe? because moldings are painted too). But the other car you posted looks factory...estoril blue... To me, the cars you posted don't really look like the ones you posted, unless my eyes are goin weird on me lol. We wanted a Yellow MINI then thought if we would still like it 5 years later. Our answer was no. I like yellow, just not in front of my house every day. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-28-2005, 05:32 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North!
