You should be ready to hammer it at 500 miles but don't bang the limiter and never more then 8 seconds of WOT through the gears. It sounds real good in your video so I'm sure you will be putting out some serious power on high boost | | | 04-19-2012, 06:26 AM | #500 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Bellevue, WA Posts: 16 | You bought Toms motor? Interesting, didn't know he finally sold it. Glad to see you are putting it to use. I will be interested to see your dyno numbers as I am building a somewhat similar M42 turbo (in an e30). Surprised I have not seen your Ti around, looks like it would be hard to miss. My parents live in Sumner so I am out that way every once in a while. Glad to see you stuck with the turbo plans for so long....looks like it paid off! | | | 04-19-2012, 04:20 PM | #501 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | yeah i got toms motor, we will see what that motor is made off lol __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 07-09-2012, 02:42 AM | #502 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | a little update. finally been driving the car around town for about 400miles now and driving at 11psi and let me tell u, traction is an issue already, cant wait for my new DME to come in the mail so i can run steady 18psi and fix the going lean issue im having with the current DME once again thanks to xxxjohnboyxxx and barrie (midnight tuning) for all their help cant thank them enough __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 07-09-2012, 03:38 PM | #503 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Don't forget to get some sticky tires!! What are you running currently? My Mickey Thompson drag radials handle 420wtq/460whp very well, and the Star Specs I daily drive with aren't too shabby in the summer either. | | | 07-10-2012, 08:58 AM | #504 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | I'm running the hankook r-s2 tires 245 wide and I don't drag race so I'm used to tires breaking loose, that's the beauty of drifting __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 03-19-2013, 04:40 AM | #505 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | first two vids don't work | | | 03-19-2013, 04:42 AM | #506 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | crap, idk how to link facebook videos on here __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 05-13-2013, 04:03 AM | #507 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | finally got some videos of the car in action, first time drifting, well trying to drift at least lol http://youtu.be/p5K2klOUcoc http://youtu.be/f2nIjhw-OEw this other video is just messing around last pass of the day and just burning the tires till blow up http://youtu.be/OX5qr_3jHa8 enjoy __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 06-12-2013, 06:28 AM | #508 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | I need moreeeee power now __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 06-12-2013, 01:46 PM | #509 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Time for a forged 6 cylinder turbo build while you drive the 4! | | | 06-17-2013, 06:42 PM | #510 | Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: Summitville, IN Posts: 38 | Looks like you need a E36 coupe or sedan for better control. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
