i cant find the part number for the plugs. The NGK website offers no info (part no.) for the 4-prong laser plt.

Because there is more than one kind. Pull one and read the numbers off it.

I also have a question to add to this... How do you gap the four or two pronged plugs...

The two pronged plugs I know don't have to be gaped. I bought Bosch Platinum two prongs, no gaping required. I believe it is the same with the four. No gaping. It should say on the package or in the book at the parts store.

My 4 prongs said on the box that they were already gapped and not to change it.

The BMW dealer in KC only has Bosch.
They have 2 prongs and are BMW branded.
You can't buy anything similar looking at any auto store.

You don't. They come gapped.

I sell every NGK and BOSCH plug BMW sells. I get them direct, they are not from BMW but they are the same. I have used BMW plugs and their BOSCH/NGK unbranded versions and there is no difference.

I will hop up on my 'what-plug-to-run-in-M42/M44' soap box again.

NGK BKR6EQUP ... They are 4 prong laser platinum. You can buy them at your BMW dealer for 20 bucks a plug or from me for a lot less. If you buy them from your dealer just tell them you want 4 plugs from an E39 M5.

We are running these plugs in my father's club sport along with BMW's performance plug wires. There was a noticible chnage in power and smoothness.

Let me rephrase.
5 hours later and 4 different auto stores in KC, I couldn't find any Bosch plug that looked like the OEM I bought from Baron

just to clarify, running NGK BKR6EQUP 4 prongs in a stock m44 ti will still work without the addition of a performance wiring kit?

yes , that is correct, you wouldn't need performance wires for this. but if you choose to upgrade, Magnecor wires would be your best bet, not bavauto

just found a great gapping instructions page from NGK and a muli-ground plug link is in there
http://www.ngk.com/learning-center/a...g-instructions

another question from me; has anyone run a cooler or hotter plug? if ya know what i mean...

http://www.ngksparkplugs.ca/document...ge%20Chart.pdf

it would seem that using a supercharger or turbo, even a cai , is would be recomended to use a 1 time colder plug, ie; from ngk , using a 7 is cooler then a 6 . and adjusting the gap.

I'm actually testing a colder plug in my stock 99 crv: iridiumIX 7 . smooth, but missing torque midrange. bought a set of the original 6 temp today , same iridiumIX 6. gonna install tomorrow with the correct gap to see if this affects anything.

interesting about the pregaped plugs, don't trust that it is correct, as out of 4 that I recently got from ngk , only 1 was about right , one was actually 0.029 instead of the 0.044 it was supposed to be. They mark not to adjust the gaping on the package, only because the iridium and platinum tips are so fragile now, but on the website, if you dig a little, they say to proceed with caution and not to force the tip. I did mine using pliers to pull up on the

I think the 4 prong plug wouldn't need gaping since the spark has a choice to take the easiest route to light. Ok, well from reading from the above link , it wouldn't be recommended to run anything else but.
hope all this makes some sense to someone..
