They will have to look it up in their computer and order it for you. I made the mistake of buying a set off eBay for $30, and found that it was the same set as the $7.99 one (how I found out about the $7.99 set). Most of the 14 mm hex/allen socket sets you find on eBay will be the same as the Advance auto set; that is they are an overpriced store set. The quality of the set from Advance for $7.99 is just fine. I will try to remember to look up the part number when I get home tonight and I will post it so you can order your own set from Advance. Here is an example set: http://www.wholesalerscatalog.com/pr..._hs&PHPSESSID= Note: I have never dealt with the above seller, it is just for reference. Considering their name you might have to be a licensed dealer to deal with them, don't know. I have seen those exact same sockets on ebay where people take out a few as a set, say 12, 14, and 17mm, and list them as BMW or Mercedes tools and list them for $30. This is the type of deal I found, and took, because I couldn't find them cheaper elsewhere. I didn't spend enough time researching them. | | | 04-12-2006, 01:57 PM | #3 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Jam the nuts together on the bolt, put the bolt head in the plug and remove with the wrench. | | | 04-12-2006, 02:09 PM | #4 | doesn't care about you. I happened to have the right size bolt and nuts laying around. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 04-12-2006, 04:08 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! I think that most Sears' will order things from the catalog to the store. I don't know if it will arrive before Saturday though. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 04-12-2006, 05:26 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | I stumbled upon one of these at a cool tool store just outside of town. It cost me $15. I like the 14mm bolt idea though, creative! That's why this forum is such a godsend. That pic is from zdmak.com -by the way, I just entered 14mm into their search feature. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 04-12-2006, 05:46 PM | #8 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | I bought one a while back. I forgot where I got it from though. It is made by a company called FA something or other. Do a search on BFC and you'll find the name there. | | | 04-12-2006, 07:04 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Oak Harbor, Wa Posts: 69 | yeah this is what i was doing, how funny, i only messed with it for a minute though but i will try it again | | | 04-12-2006, 07:06 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | egay sell them __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 04-12-2006, 07:55 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | My ghetto solution was to use a piece of all-thread connector, and grind down half of it to 14mm. I use a normal socket on the other side. One of these. | | | 04-14-2006, 08:07 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Oak Harbor, Wa Posts: 69 | I cant take a pic of what i used due to not having a digital camera but it's beautiful. My father-in-law to be took the bolt and nuts I was trying to use with no success and put a socket on the nuts then welded it all together. It will seriously break the socket wrench or the rearend before the tool would break! | | | 04-14-2006, 08:13 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Where are you located? I'm always willing to lend tools, so long as I don't have to drive or pay shipping. And if I have time to spare I'll lend a hand. Then again, not a whole lot of people live near me. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 04-17-2006, 04:58 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Oak Harbor, Wa Posts: 69 | that is very generious but i have what i need now i live in cincinnati | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | Euro Clear Tails Question | JoeyBello | Exterior | 3 | 01-16-2008 05:32 AM | |
