Default M3 Clutch and Flywheel Without Master Cylinder

Well I just got the parts to go my M3 clutch swap and was wondering if anyone has run the M3 clutch and flywheel without the M3 master cylinder. I know everyone recommends that you use the M3 MC, but is it really necessary? I know it will make the clutch easier to use, but will it be impossible to use without the MC? I am used to driving Mustangs and Camaros with heavy clutches and would really like a stiffer clutch pedal in my car. I'm just making sure I will be able to drive the car without the MC. TIA.

The master cylinder is the same for all e36s. It's the slave cylinder that can be replaced. Install the clutch, drive around, if you don't like it then just replace the slave cylinder with the M3 unit. Takes about an hour at most.

Thanks. I guess I got my parts mixed up. As long as it is driveable then I'll be happy. I just didn't want to finish and have a clutch that wouldnt' work.
