oh yeah i have always owned POS's!

this is my first car i have treated myself too!

the others were just plain beaters or junk cars! and you learn so much more from starting with a cheap car imo!

The cars i have had are a 1988 Geo Prizm, 2001 Dodge Neon, and now my Ti. If it wasn't for a lady hitting my neon i would never have gotten the Ti.

This guy was on m5boards.com. The really sad thing is that he was talking on that board about driving the car above 120 MPH and asking how to make changes in the adjustable suspension, and electric controlled throttle, and shifting...

More than a few "be careful" comments. I would hate to see something similiar happen to somebody from here. All the best for the surviving family and friends.

Dibs on the motor and tranny!
Even if he was driving a 1991 honda. At speed and flying off the embarkment, it still would have killed them. I doubt his parent's would be feeling any different if financial circumstances meant they could only spend $500 on a car for their son instead of $82,000.

True, It's just too bad. People make poor choices sometimes.

It's creepy how the other m5 members told him if he crashed it was going to be in the news and how an 18 year old and an m5 would only lead up to an accident. It's a horrible way to go, this is why parents shouldn't let their kids drive around in a car with so much power, IMO.

It's not the power of the car that's the problem, it's the driver. Whether he was driving an m5 or a 318ti, stupid stuff could still happen. Tools are neutral, it is the user that imparts the intent (in other words: "guns don't kill people, people kill people").

You know, I recently answered a question online somewhere that said if you had to choose only one, would you pick:

a) World Peace.

b) Ending all disease.

Now at first I thought, end all disease, but then I said, hmm, world peace is better because humans still need natural predators. What kind of rationale is that?
