Default Unknown wire??? Help!!!

I just bought a TI and there is an unattached wire in the engine bay that I don't know what it goes to. I will load pics when I get them but for now I'll just describe it in case someone knows what it is. The wire is a black three pin plug that looks almost circular. It has three holes but only two have the metal connector thingies inside( real technical I know). It comes out of the same place the line for the brake/transmission lid comes out of. I have looked to see if there is anything is disconnected, but I can't find anything. I just want to make sure all is tidy before driving it. HELP!!!

I'm guessing heater control valve. Should be on the firewall next to your brake booster, plugs in from the bottom.

-correction plugs in from top

Is it on the left side of you're engine bay? like close to the front of the car?

No it is right side branches off the wire the screws on to the power steering resevior. Is it possible it is something for an automatic car and not used on a manual? I can't find the place to plug it into the heater control valve. I am frustrated and hoping it is a plug that's for something that is prewired.

Can you post a picture of the area where this wire is. I'm not seeing it on my car. Nothing to plug it into either. If you pst a picture I might be looking inthe wrong area and will look exactly when your picture shows and post exactly what I see.

I'm 1997 318 manual trans
