Unhappy Steve Irwin RIP

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapc...red/index.html

It's sad to see such an amazing man die, what he did for animals and the environment will never be duplicated by anyone else. He was filled with passion and enthusiasm for wildlife that we should all hope to have.
He was a great man, and will surely be missed.

RIP

Yeah it's a shame that he did die but he does risk his life with everythng he does. The sad part is he didn't die from a croc but a stingray shot his stinger into his heart. Anywhere else and he'd most likely be still alive but it put a hole in his heart.

I'm sorry, but this is the kind of man we lost. That video tears me up.
I grew up watching his original series, he's the reason my brother and I got into reptiles. I feel bad for his young family as well.

I heard about that. I actually never watched any of his shows, I've only seen commercials, but he seemed like an amazing guy.

Wow, that video had me tearing up. Thats sad. Poor poor man, but rather that way than say a car accident. At least he did die doing something he loved. RIP.

17 people ever recorded have died from sting rays....unfortunate...itd be better to go out with a croc or something more exciting...but itd also be better to not die

The most important thing he did was help kill the "bambi" syndrom in the west. He taught folks that animals do what the do because of what they are. Not who they are.

Got people thinking in a scientific direction instead of emotional direction. His impact because of that makes him dang near imortal.

Couple years ago I knew an old guy (78) who raced in a little old british car. In J prod. He actually beat about 3 other cars and died during his victory lap. Coasted off the end of the last turn and stopped at the tire wall. Thats how I wanna do it....

That was so terrible when I heard he had died. I always expected him to go like that but it was still shocking. I think the freak accident was quite appropriate, he is only the 17th person ever to die because of a stingray and I think thats right because now he will be famous in two ways. I also thought it was right that he went out like a BA and pulled out the barb.

That is the absolute best way to die that Ive ever heard of in my life. I always thought of the kiwi guy who died of a heart attack while he was racing a E30 M3 was a great way to go, but that is much better.

I seriously have been almost close to tears while watching some of the SteveIrwin videos online.
Here is a nice, but not so sad page on him.

bmwracerchick: LOL What is sad is that Starcraft is now "old school"

I started watching Steve Irwin when he first came on TV in the mid 90's, I introduced many people to his shows back then, and I have kept up with him from the beginning. I kind of felt like I knew the guy having followed his career and watched him and his family progress. I also felt like a kindred spirit of his being that we share the same views on animals etc.

I came probably the closest to crying when I heard about his death as I have since I was about 8 years old. The world is now a worse place for having lost Steve Irwin.
