Hey everyone, I had a rough night, I had to say goodbye to my Uncle for 2 years. He is going on active duty in Iraq to be in charge of a squadron. He has been in the Army when he was a teen, went on the Reserve and became a police officer then a SRO for a local High School, now its time for him to return to serve our country, the day before the imfamous Sept. 11th. I dont know why im posting this on here but like I said before I come here to get things off my chest. He is leaving behind a wonderful wife my Aunt and 2 children to fight for our country and bring hope to others. He will be on the front line during these 2 years so I wish him all the luck in the world and god bless to him and I pray I get to see him again. __________________ my new world | | | 09-10-2006, 08:58 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: New Jersey Posts: 363 | I think I speak on behalf of all of us here, when I say I wish him the best of luck over there and completely support him. No matter what your beliefs of this war may be, everyone should support and respect our soldiers. They put their lives on the line everyday, to protect and serve our great country. With that said, good luck to your uncle and all of our armed forces overseas. __________________ RIP Tonka Hitlerietta 08/03/04 - 01/25/05 | | | 09-10-2006, 02:56 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | +1 I totally agree. No matter what your beliefs about this war may be, always, ALWAYS support the troops. My Father is a 'Nam vet, he got treated badly when he returned, and all he did was do his job and survive. He and I both agree that the troops are just doing their job like they are supposed to. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! I hope your uncle comes back safe and sound! | | | 09-10-2006, 07:40 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | my sisters fiance just left a week ago to iraq hes in college in the reserves and he is workin in building w/ supplies and my uncle was a nam vet as well he has license plates that have bronze stars and i have an army hat and a shirt that has my sister's fiances name on it!! I know how hard it can be mentally, physically and emotionally on a soldier and the family left behind. The one thing that truly makes a soldier happy is MAIL, lots of mail. Once he gets there make sure to write him often. Remember,, one doe not need to support the cause, but we need to support out troops.
