Rear Sunshade

Default Rear Sunshade

I just finished installing the rear "inside window sunshade"!

I was out driving with it, and you can easily see out.

The P/N is 82 24 9 402 930 with a list price of $157 from the dealer.

We have an oustanding dealer here, Shelly BMW in Buena Park and with my good guy discount, I only paid $133.45 including sales tax. I bought two, one for my daughter's ti too.

The installation took all of 20 minutes - it was the first time I did it. I am installing Tina's tomorrow, and I expect it to take no more than 15 minutes.

The box came with excellent directions and a template for drilling the two holes needed.

First you take the rear shelf out of the car - turn up-side-down. Using the templete, drill two holes from the underside - 5/16" drill bit. Take the two screws, provided, and screw through the shelf and let the tips of the screws come through about 1/8". Then locate the shade on the two screw tips - tighten screws. Just make sure that the shade is facing in the forward direction when installing. With the shade installed, re-fit the shelf in the car. Pull up the upper trim/seal around the top of the of the hatch. Use a felt tip pen and mark where the ends of the un-rolled shade comes up. Install the two clips, with the hook facing forward, I had to use a small mallet to make them go in. Then push down the trim/seal over the now installed hooks. You are done!

It looks great and it makes sence. This way with the shade up, you protect the top of the seat from the harsh rays of the sun. Very practical!

I also bought the "M" side mouldings for Tins's car (my ti already has special mouldings) and I will install them tomorrow.

P/N for the mouldings was 51 13 2 267 003 with a list price of $204. I paid only $173.40 out the door. That was complete, with all three mouldings for each side. The door moulding has the "M" and the M-sport tri-color on it. Looks neat and should match the front and rear bumper rubber. I have checked and all you have to do there is to snap the old mouldings off and install the new ones in the same holes. They came complete with new clips and I think it might take me half an hour to do them all.

If you feel it worthwhile to use this in the website - please feel free to do so.
