Default M43 idle control valve replacement

Simple question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

When changing an idle control valve on an M43 powered car (and probably M40/42/44).. does the new valve need specifically coding/adapting to the ECU? Or, is it a learning part with out the need to tell the car it's had a new one? Just driving it will result in the ECU learning the new parameters?

Taa.
Rob.

To my knowledge if it's 2 pin no the car should adapt, 3 pin may need new parameters seeing as how that should signify a digitally controlled unit

Hmm, it's 3 pin.

Guess it's time to research ebay cables and what software to buy.

Just look up others doing it. 3 pin could be power ground and trigger as well.

Do you have the on throttle body kind or separate tubing kind.

It's the throttle body attached type.

Got some injector seals I'm gonna throw on and see it it's that.. if it's not I'll start looking at sensors... I know the o2 is ok because it reads fie at MOT time.
