Disgusting...I guess that's what I get for putting videos on the internet. | i fail to see how this is your video? LOL just kidding. LoL that sucks. Maybe next time you should keep the windows down so they *as in they, people who view the vid* gets to see whos inside and be like wait, that looks different. | | | 12-18-2007, 03:59 PM | #122 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | Hey people, I was looking at stuff on howstuffworks and saw this picture: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/drifting5.htm Looks like a ti to me! | | | 12-18-2007, 04:23 PM | #123 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Looks like an older toyota corolla GTS. Notice the pop up headlights and the kind of angular body style. | | | 12-18-2007, 04:27 PM | #124 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 12-18-2007, 08:47 PM | #125 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Damascus, Maryland Posts: 434 | Haha I saw that video a while back Midget..Kind of entertaining? Anyways, I got through page 4 of this thread and I think the reason for so much negativity towards "drifting" here is simply because it's a BMW forum. Unless I remember incorrectly, BMW's are known as the ultimate driving machines, not the ultimate drifting machines. They built their reputation on superb handling, braking, track stuff. Most of the people on this forum understand this, and even more buy their BMW specifically for those reasons. They want a car that is pleasing/fun to drive. So sorry for all the flaming towards the poor soul who asked about drifting the ti, but it just seems out of place here. In my mind, it'd be like posting what setup would work best for street racing on a clod/mud runner/4x4/rock climbing forum. Maybe a tad more extreme, but you get the point. __________________ | | | 12-18-2007, 08:58 PM | #126 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Quote: Originally Posted by BakeR318 Haha I saw that video a while back Midget..Kind of entertaining? I think it has a lot more to do with the timing of this thread and the release to the fast and the furious tokyo drift. Until the organizations that are organizing drift events decide that they don't want to be solely associated with 16 year old kids tearing up mommmy and daddy's car(IE Hulk Hogan's son) people will continue to talk bad about drifting. I don't think that there is a single person that has watched true professional drifters and not been amazed at their car control skills. However, if you go to your average drift competition you see a bunch of people that have no clue what they are doing, and a select few that are pretty good at it. In the US, even at professional events, you see a lot of people with more money than brains, again, think about Nick Bollea. People think drifting, they think NOPI, which means ricers... Before anybody flames me, I have nothing against drifting, and to do it well definitely takes skill. But the way it is being marketted in the US is why it leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths | | | 12-18-2007, 10:30 PM | #127 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: San Juan Capo, CA Posts: 216 | wow its been a while since i have been on here... well if any one was interested ... yes i did get a good set up for drifting with the tc kline racing coils ... but unfortunately i went into the wall at irwindale and totaled the car ... so now i have an rx7 project and saving up for another ti ...
