Thanks Jerry! Mikhail (the seller) is working with his friend for Paypal payments. He'd say he's not skilled yet with uploads and forums. He is lucky to have friends and family to help him out. I'll let him know about the back seats.

I'm interested in the engine and possibly trans. Anyone have an idea how much a semi-complete engine weighs so I can get a shipping quote??

If they have the headrests and are in decent condition, consider them sold. I'll try calling you this evening when I'm home from work. Thanks!

So, I was text messaging with Mikhail today. He dosen't get to computers much, he tries to get on in the evenings. He would perfer if you could call him directly so he can text you pictures of the parts you are interested in.

I will PM his number to whom I see is interested untill he gets his forum feet under him. He is located in Tucson, AZ from a time zone perspective.

I'm happy to help him out as it helps him and help you all score parts you want. Below is feedback from today...

------------------------------------------------------------------

Sean, he has removed both bumpers. I asked him to take shots of the connection points for the rear valence which was broken when he got hit. He says the connection points are intact. He has the pictures and wants to verify which ones you want.

Jerry, He didn't mention if the rear seats had headrests, he did mention they were leather and grey.

Pantheon, he wants to confirm exactly what you want for the trailing arms and he will pull them for you if you still need them. $225 plus shipping

FunElan is visiting him on Saturday to decide on door panels, spoiler and M3 mirrors among other things.

Benz-tech, I did tell him about your interest in the engine and tranny. I'll probably see if I can get published weight for those components. If someone has a reference, please post. Thanks!

He's sending my second batch of stuff today.

Jerry, Mikhail said the rear seats have headrests, but the color is grey. You've got dibs.

Default Suspension upgrade?

i have an active which needs struts. I figured i would upgrade the whole package all at once. This appears to be a sport model. Does anyone know what kind of mileage is on it? Depending on mileage of parts, would be interested in springs/struts/sways......seems like it might be a while before anyone responds, but thought i would ask. Also seems a long shot as shipping to East Coast for sways would be pricey.

I spoke with Mikhail yesterday. There are a few challenges in contacting him, but the results at least for me has yielded great parts. Same for FunElan who met Mikhail on Saturday. While Mikhail is not as knowledgable about car parts, the PO was a BMW tech who built up the car, hence the presense of prime parts.

The best way to inquire is to call Mikhail at his contact number listed in his response below. He is not a computer wielding guy, but he is quite responsive on the phone and text messaging. He can take pics of what you're interested in and send via text message. The vehicle is in a friends auto yard 30 min from his house and presently, he does not have a vehicle, but typically gets rides from family members. So, you and he can arrange a time when he will go to his car and take pictures and confirm so he knows exactly what you'd like so he can pull it. He sends USPS or Greyhound Express.

Additionally, if you are in the Tucson area, he'll arrange to meet you at his car to pull parts. Again, call his contact number if you're interested in stuff. I know this is not as normal as we typically trade off parts, but, it is what it is.

While a bunch of parts have been sold or reserved this week, He has mentioned the availability of various parts.

1998 Active:

Available parts:
  • M44 engine minus the intake manifold
  • OBDII M44 engine harness (Can be included with motor or separate)
  • Manual tranny
  • Diff (Not confirmed if LSD or not)
  • Driveshaft
  • Struts/shocks/springs (Bilstien front struts, still identifying springs)
  • Brake Calipers/Rotors/Servo/Master Cylinder
  • SS brake lines
  • Lower X-brace
  • Interior front and rear door panels (gray)
  • Aftermarket front seats
  • Headliner
  • Sunroof cassette
  • Wheels/tires
  • Hubs/half shafts
  • Hood/hood struts
  • Rear hatch (had a spoiler, so there are holes in the hatch)/Hatch struts
  • Windshield
  • Headlights/clear corner markers
  • Dash/visors/pillars
  • Center console
  • DME/EWS/Key lock
  • Heater blower
  • Rear speaker mounts/speakers
  • Modified front fenders with Z3 vent inserts
  • Both doors, windows, actuators/regulators/exterior door trim
  • Interior carpet in good condition

Sold or pending:
  • DASC
  • F/R M-Tech bumpers
  • M3 mirrors
  • Back leather seats w/headrests
  • M-tech spoiler
  • Strut tower brace
  • Swaybars
  • Taillights
  • Twisty side skirts
  • Ashtray holder
  • Front nose panel and grill
  • Trunk carpet

Give him a call if you are interested in any of these items. BTW, I'm assisting him as he has given me a break on many parts and he is a genuine and good guy. Proceeds from his part out and insurance goes towards his next family vehicle.

Cheers and thanks for helping a ti brother out!
