I think it's an M44, not M42

your right zoner m44 but with less emission control, I compared my 98 m44 to the 96 m44 and the 96 has less sensors and plugs. but what gets me is the intake boot is from a m42 and completely different than the 98

Are you sure it is from an M42? Some of the M44 boots look similar to the M42 but the boots on an M42 and M44 are very different, due to the differences in the MAF sensors. On the M44's, they are even different still if you have ASC+T vs. non-ASC+T.

It was for my m44 before I swapped. It didnt have traction control.

It does have asc t but I dont know where that hooks up to no loose plugs or anything

That is definitely the non-ASC+T, M44 boot.

Mine was set up like that too. Had the button but no acs on the boot. I have that boot. Brand new. Text me at 703 899 0086.
