Default 20 Questions (Well, maybe a few less)

Okay, so here's the deal. . .

I lost my job back in June and money became REALLY tight. At the same time, I managed to lose my license. . . which really sucked since about 2 weeks before hand I started having problems with the Ti. . .

1.) I had managed to smack a curb hard enough to destroy my front bumper, molding, fog light, fog housing, etc. . . So I picked up a new M3 bumper and had it sprayed. They did a crap job and I'm going to try to get it fixed someplace else, but needed to source some parts and ideas.

I managed to destroy the fog housing and was going to look for new stuff. Where can I get a fog delete kit? How about brake ducts, since one got smashed up pretty bad. Will a delete kit work without the bracket for the fog light?

2.) What is the OBC temp sensor? I managed to rip it off and never had it replaced.

3.) Has anyone replaced a Cam Position Sensor? Apparently this is ALSO now out. According to the shop manual you have to remove a ****-ton of stuff. Can I just cut the wires and splice the new one in since its on the front of the motor?

4.) How did you get the mesh piece for your M3 bumper to stay in place? Mine has these tabs, but doesn't stay connected at all (ghey).

5.) What have you done with your sagging head liner to fix it? I really don't want to go ripping it out.

6.) Any replacements for the C-Pillar sticker garbage? THe black piece is peeling a bit. . .

There are several threads about this topic. Most people advise having it done professionally for best results.

I think you mean the B-Pillar. The rear edge of the door, right? If I remember correctly, the best remedy is to remove the sticker and let the body color shine through. Or, you could paint that spot black.

sorry to hear all these problems have come at you at once, bavauto sells the foglight deletes for $20 apiece, or I might be able to sell you mine if I can find them (I don't know if they will fit because I have a non-M bumper, but I think they will), as for the black tape on the pillar, a lot of people on here just remove them, I'm sure if you look you can find a thread explaining how to do it, and the same with the saggy headliner

That answers a handful of them! I figure I can always go with the fog deletes and have them painted, then just glue them since the fog light holes appear to have a backing.

I'm also debating having the body molding color matched to the car since they screwed up the original paint job. (They painted the trim to match the car, which looked extremely retarded, then painted it gloss black. Idiots.)

I ended up stapling the headliner to the cardboard backing until I get around to replacing it.

Duct tape is for temporary fixes when you don't have the proper tools.

Teletubbies and the above picture.
It's all starting to make sense now. Well, sort of.

Thank you for the valid input! I was a bit dishevelled when I posted this originally, so a few questions I need clarification on. . .

1.) Is the brake ducting standard? I had an M bumper on the car when I bought it.

2.) What does the OBC temp sensor do? Since mine ripped off, does this actually need to be replaced?

3.) Has anyone ever tried to just splice the wires in for the Cam Position Sensor? Seems like it would be a whole heckuvalot easier than removing the intake and everything else.

4.) I found fog lights from DDM (?) that are only a few dollars more than the deletes for the pair.

Thanks for all your help!

you do not need the brake ducts they were just an added bonus

temp sensor just sends temp info to the obc if you dont need to know the temp outside then you dont need a new one. lol.

im not sure about the cam sensor

ddm? i know you can use any e36 fogs so im not sure of the ???

also im in live in toledo so if you need any help hit me up.

Foglights were pretty inexpensive. . .

Need to find brake ducts (big gaping holes FTL)

If I'm reading this correctly, the temp sensor is for if you have the computer that displays the outside temp???

As far as i know thats the only thing its for. My car has one hanging and i dont even have an OBC so i think it just came stan. in the wiring
