if the car is in as good a shape as it looks and the mileage is decent that isnt a terrible price. I got my 97 base model with 135k for about 5000 out the door including ttl. Thats a rather typical price here in texas for a ti.

went to see the car today...
really clean, the front/rear bumper seems.... suspect...
engine sounded ok even at 140k miles...
probably needs a new clutch soon....
but the dealer would not budge at all....
he wants 6k
i'm passing on this...
the car's been on his lot for at least 5 weeks
and he bought it from wholesale...
i can't justify paying 2k over edmunds...
so if anyone wants it... go for it...
i'm going to wait another 2-3 weeks
and offer edmunds price...

This car has actually been on their lot since before Oct 27th, 2007...
There should be a reason why it's been there for so long.

probably because it's overpriced, there is a dealership in the town I live in who has had some of the cars on his lot for over a year because he's so stiff on the price, he also has an FJ Cruiser on 22"s but I doubt that will sell for any price

the dealer claimed that he sold a 95 'a few months back' for 8700...
things they'll say to try to make a price reasonable...
he should have said that he sold s few in 97 for 20k...
but this is how i break it down...
if he's got this car from an auction/wholesale... he probably got it for 1500
500 for lot fee, 750 profit.... no reason why he should keep the car if someone offer him
3500... but i didn't even want to make that offer yesterday... that was how horrible the test driving experience....

some will say that this is a rare car, and that i'm passing up on a nice clean ride...
but i say, if it doesn't feel right, it doesn't feel right... i'll pass until i find the right one for me...

I used them a couple times about 3-4 years ago. As far as I recall, they were the only legit online escrow company.
