Question Performance Wheels?!?

If any of you active posters auto-cross you would know that having 18-inch wheels is not good. Autocross is all about acceleration and not top-speed, so having closer to the stock wheel size is better.
On another note, if you guys race and such, what wheels do you use that are lightweight(brand, weight, cost, size, e.t.c.)?

You might want to post this in the autox section of the forum.

Stick with stock size or close to it for autocross. Been there, tried it. Try to have one set for street and one for race. I'm at present trying to make up my mind on wheels. SSR Competitions in 15in which are 10.6 lbs, but $309.00 each (TireRack.com)! Ouch Ouch!!! The other choice is Racing Dynamics Race 2 15in and 16in at 13.2lbs and 15.3lbs. Strange Offset on the 15in wheels... +25. This would push the wheels out about 1/2in per corner over stock. Understand that this can cause a wondering effect on the road so I stay close to factory Offset. The 16in are +35. Better. I hope this helps.

Remember... lighter is better... Right? =)

Will 16 inch performance wheels (like Kosei K1, OZ leggera) clear the e36 M3 front brakes?

MAYBE. Most 16" wheels do not clear the brakes; but some do. No idea if those do or not...
