I really like the style of the 318ti, and I'm thinking pretty seriously about buying one, but I have a few requirements: 1. Has to be a manual transmission. 2. Has to be in decent shape, with no mechanical problems. 3. Has to be within reasonable distance of Missouri (I don't mind crossing a few state lines, but CA/NY cars are out). 4. Has to be under $6K, ideally closer to $5k. Has anyone seen anything that fits this criteria? Or am I asking for too much? | | | 10-23-2005, 07:33 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | autotrader.com | | | 10-23-2005, 07:59 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: MO Posts: 40 | Yeah, I've checked there, of course. It seems like (in this area, at least) autotrader has been overrun with dealerships, generally asking well above average prices. I'll keep my eyes on it, though - maybe eventually I'll get lucky. I'm not really in any hurry. For the record, I'm also monitoring cragslist, cars.com, eBay, and local papers. I just thought that this forum might provide me with one more reasource. | | | 10-25-2005, 10:28 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Sep 2003 Posts: 67 | Attachment 812 Quote: Originally Posted by PENVermillion I really like the style of the 318ti, and I'm thinking pretty seriously about buying one, but I have a few requirements: 1. I wish I could buy it from you, but I'm afraid I'm severely hamstrung by requirement number 4 above. Thanks for the heads-up, though, and good luck with the sale! | | | 10-27-2005, 03:26 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Manhattan Kansas Posts: 242 | Missouri you say?? | | | 10-27-2005, 04:38 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: MO Posts: 40 | Hey, look at that, a fellow Missourian. I will admit, I'm a bit put off by the salvage title, but I'm not completely close-minded. Have you got some recent pictures of the car, inside and out? What condition is it in, and what problems does it have? Any upcoming service that you think it might need? Pretty much any details you can provide would be helpful. | | | 10-27-2005, 05:32 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Manhattan Kansas Posts: 242 | I'll PM you my phone number and we can talk. | | | 10-27-2005, 06:26 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Lynchburg, VA Posts: 200 | Quote: Originally Posted by PENVermillion I really like the style of the 318ti, and I'm thinking pretty seriously about buying one, but I have a few requirements: 1.
