Default Is valvetronic possible on an m44?

So Ive been wondering, bmw's m70 was basically 2 m20's put together, complete with 2 DME's which the new v8's have gone back to for some reason. but I was wondering if its the same with the m62 cylinder head and the m44/m42 cylinder head.

If they are close enough it may be possible to swap the cylinder head and in the process do a vanos and valvetronic conversion...

Yes I know this would be very complicated and involve programming a new DME, but I was curious, I think I might start seeing what I can do to answer this myself, but its going to take me a while as I hunt down a spare M42 or m44 engine, an m62tu cylinder head to bolt on

Just a thought, it may be especially useful for turbo cars when programmed correcly

What would be the purpose? It already has DISA and lacks in so many other areas that VVT would be a waste of reengineering it to an m42/4. You can research the n42.
