Ive been traveling and now back in the area. My 96 318ti has been great since the radiator and cooling repairs but Ive had a check engine light come and go. No visible or physical signs so I didnt think anything of it. Now the lights been on for a bit and wont go away, so I tried to use a acetron cp9135 obd2 scanner and it wont interface with the car! All my electronics work, so I'm stumped! Gonna try and pull the negative battery cable and see what happens. Any advice would be great guys! | | | 01-16-2013, 02:04 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | You are connecting it to below the dash? You do have the diagnostic cap under the hood secure? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-16-2013, 04:11 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: USA Posts: 40 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti You are connecting it to below the dash? An I will have to look under my hood tomorrow when there is light so I can see the location of the diagnostic cap to ensure it is secure. | | | 01-17-2013, 11:09 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: USA Posts: 40 | Cap is secure and double checked for placement. | | | 01-18-2013, 01:07 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | My OBD-II -> BT scanner isn't working but sometime ago I noticed I bent one of the pins in the plug. Check all you pins in the scanner. Other than that, IDK. Sorry. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-19-2013, 02:25 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: USA Posts: 40 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti My OBD-II -> BT scanner isn't working but sometime ago I noticed I bent one of the pins in the plug. That will only reset the oil and/or inspection light. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
