 New Battery, but engine still won't start
A relative borrowed my '96 318ti this past Sunday and on Monday, the car wouldn't start. It cranked, but didn't turn over. I tried starting it again this morning, and after a number of clicking noises, it seems the battery died.
I hadn't replaced the battery since I bought the car in '01, so I got a new battery and installed it. The old battery was dead according to the guys at Autozone.
After installation, no more clicking, but the car just cranks without turning over. There have been some issues with an intermittent starter sensor in the past, but accompanied by a spinning sound, which usually resolves itself after a few attempts at ingnition.
