Wondering whether anyone has tried to replace their trunk cover ... I've got a black cover and it's been discolored from the sun ... thinking about either replacing it (anyone know how much that usually costs ?) or maybe dying it black ... has anyone tried to dye their covers ?

Mine is purple now as well.

I saw a post somewhere about dyeing it. I think it's a spray-on dye, and it supposedly works really well. I'll try to find the post...

Try Ron Stygar's posts on unnofficialbmw (.com/.org- not sure which right now...)

If you find it, post it here for everyone.

I'm sure that part is at least $75.00. I don't have a P/N or cost for it.

Well, I guess dyeing it is the answer... That's got to be less than $100.00

contacted maximillian importing, hope to get a reply soon ... $100 is fine but I don't think I'd want to spend $300 or even $375 to replace the deck, I'd probably go for the dying instead ... I'm wondering whether there's any difference in the quality ... it's not that impressive in the first place, so there must not be that much fo a difference ...

if you've got a part number, that'd be helpful ... I really think that'd be a good investment at this point, I hate how purple my deck looks ...

Black is 'schwartz' in German. Not sure what that other name is... perhaps it's 'charcoal' or something. The dealer should know.
