I've got a black cover and it's been discolored from the sun ... thinking about either replacing it (anyone know how much that usually costs ?) or maybe dying it black ... has anyone tried to dye their covers ? | | | 03-26-2003, 06:07 PM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Mine is purple now as well. I saw a post somewhere about dyeing it. I think it's a spray-on dye, and it supposedly works really well. I'll try to find the post... Try Ron Stygar's posts on unnofficialbmw (.com/.org- not sure which right now...) If you find it, post it here for everyone. I'm sure that part is at least $75.00. I don't have a P/N or cost for it. | | | 03-26-2003, 06:45 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m Mine is purple now as well. Posts: 3,156 | Well, I guess dyeing it is the answer... That's got to be less than $100.00 | | | 03-26-2003, 08:19 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | sure is | | | 03-26-2003, 11:00 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Maryland, USA Posts: 678 | the rear deck? the part held on by the strings when you open the hatch? BavAuto told me $300. | | | 03-26-2003, 11:09 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 72 | contacted maximillian importing, hope to get a reply soon ... $100 is fine but I don't think I'd want to spend $300 or even $375 to replace the deck, I'd probably go for the dying instead ... I'm wondering whether there's any difference in the quality ... it's not that impressive in the first place, so there must not be that much fo a difference ... | | | 03-26-2003, 11:10 PM | #8 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT!
