Last year, one of my best friends was having service done there, and was asked if they would mind if they use his car for a new product they were about to market (that he did not need), install it and take pics of the install for their "self install guide, website, and catalog pics". He said "sure!" thinking he was getting something for nothing. There was no mention of cost, and (again) it was something he did not need done to his car.

When he went to pick up his car, there was an extra $1300 charge.

I'm not saying it's the norm, but they've been known to do similar things in the past...

Man that sucks!!
I wish we can find an honest and reliable ( and BMW wise) shop around MA.. someone who doesnt kill my pockets!

Glad I work on my own car, even if some parts are repaired with duct tape (that's why I have no engine bay pics in my gallery)

My ICV to AFM intake boot vacuum hose is taped with high temp duct tape. I replace the damn thing twice and both of them split. I got tired of buying that vacuum hose so I just taped the last one that split on me... Works like a charm.
