Hello Ti fans
In this tutorial I'll try to show you how you can fix some minor scratches on your baby, using the buffing method, and wax it, so your TI will look nice and shiny. This will not only protect and preserve the paint and the body of your car but is recommended if you do it at least twice a year.
In the spring after the long winter you wash your car to remove salt build up and debris and wax it so the paint can be protected from the blazing sun. Especially if you live in the southern states or closer to the equator where the sun is closer.
In the fall you wanna wax it so your car can be protected during the winter from the salt and other deicers. And the cool thing is that after you wash your car it returns to prewax condition.
REMEMBER ! WHEN YOU WAX YOUR CAR BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH SOME PLASTIC OR RUBBER PARTS OF YOUR CAR! DOING SO WILL DAMAGE THE PAINT ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE BLACK AND TURN THEM WHITE!(JUST PUT TAPE ON THE PLASTIC SIDE MARKERS)
This are the tools and products needed(around $40), you can use also rotative slow buffer($15 from wallmart).
IMG_2733.jpg The rubbing compound costs around $25.
IMG_2735.jpg So first wash your car, and after is dry apply some rubbing compound to a towel and start rubbing it with rotative movement against the paint
Attachment 10899 IMG_2739.jpg Treat the whole car and especially the places with scratches. You need to press a as hard as you can.(it's easier with the buffer) Do it as much as it needs. Soon you'll see how the small scratches disappear
After you are done, wash the car, removing all the small sand from the compound. Usually your wax kit will have clay in it(looks like hand soap). First spray the surface of the car with the quick detailer spray and then start applying over the prayed surface with the clay. What it does is, it removes small debris from the surface.
After the paint is completely clean, apply some wax to a clean cotton towel and start applying with the same rotative movement onto the paint. Treat the whole car and remeber not to touch the plastic and rubber parts.( I did and now I have to paint them all black
) Wait till is all dry and with another clean cotton towel start cleaning the whole surface of the car. You don't need to wash again your car, just wipe it with the towel.
IMG_2743.jpg After you are done just move 10 feet back, put your sunglasess on
and take a picture of your shiny beauty. GOOD LUCK!
