I think it is something like 195/65 R 15 on 15x6.5 steel wheels Or is it 205/60 R 15 on 15x7 wheels? I'm looking at winter tires and I'm told that narrower is better. Will the 195/65 R 15 tires fit on a 15x7 wheel? | | | 10-05-2005, 04:02 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Walnut Creek, CA Posts: 642 | The steel wheels were 15 x 6.5 with 185/65 -15 tires. The alloys were 15 x 7, I think with 195 or 205's. I have 215/60 15's on my '75 911, and I even think you could fit 225's on that rim, but I don't know if there's enough clearance with the fender. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 10-05-2005, 04:46 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Montreal, Quebec Posts: 30 | I'm looking at a set of used OEM 15x7 alloys. Will there be a problem fitting the 185/65 R 15 tires? | | | 10-05-2005, 04:55 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Walnut Creek, CA Posts: 642 | Should fit fine. Go to tirerack.com and play with the tire/wheel selector. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 10-05-2005, 04:51 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | The sticker in the driver door frame shows the sizes that camae on the TI. They are for sale if you would happen to want another set for snow. | | | 10-05-2005, 08:42 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | i also run 205/60R15 on the 15" steels. i had blizzaks that were 185/65R15, and found no appreciable difference between the two widths. there is a thread about winter tires (green diamond) that you may want to check into for brands. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
