Go to www.kbb.com for a value. With my zip code, it says a 1998 TI active with 28,000 miles in excellent condition is worth $10,985 for a private party sale. __________________ Dan 98 Dinan S1 TI Sport | | | 03-12-2003, 12:22 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Westchester, NY Posts: 234 | KBB is a joke...whatever it says plant $3-4k on top of that dependant upon the vehicle. That said I would pay no more than $14k based on what you have already stated...good luck! | | | 03-12-2003, 05:22 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Macomb, Mi Posts: 81 | If you pay 18k for a 1998 318ti I will personally come and kick your ass. Keep an eye out on ebay or other local adds for a better deal. 18k is way to high for that car. | | | 03-12-2003, 06:18 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Soledad, CA Posts: 9 | Yah.... I found another ..... http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...ar=1997&color= what do you guys think about it? I think they whant $10k..... they have no clue what package it is........ it got 90 k miles...... | | | 03-12-2003, 06:27 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Macomb, Mi Posts: 81 | Mileage is kinda high for a 98. The wheels arent original and personally I dont like the style. It definately looks like an active package. For 10,000 you should be able to find a much lower mileage 96 or 97 car. Are you looking for a manual or automatic? Here is a car I had my eye on: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...405636873&rd=1 | | | 03-12-2003, 06:40 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Soledad, CA Posts: 9 | Oh wow that is nice 318 ti.......... dam I want something like that....... when I also find cars I like they are to far away..... I wish something would pop out close to me......... Im willing to drive 10 hours to go pick up a car...... You will have the best luck if you are willing to wait for the right deal and the right car. Trying to find it in your area is certainly tough but definately doable. | | | 03-12-2003, 07:49 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Macomb, Mi Posts: 81 | Quote: Originally Posted by OMAR | I was actually thinking about showing you that one. Also, if the car is somewhere else, hire an independent inspection company to check it out and don't be afraid to spend $100+ on this. I've bought laptops, cars, etc. on eBay and have no problem doing it. You just have to be smart about it. IMHO, the current "star" ti on eBay is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2468076336 I've had my eye on that one on AutoTrader for some time. I know nothing about it other than what you read, but sounds like a good deal. Selling price on AutoTrader was I think $13,500. I'd expect about a $13k reserve. OMAR, I think $18k is too much. If you really want one, hold out for an M-sport. The package is beautiful. I looked for mine for about a year, and test-drove several around the state before I bought mine in TX. Go figure. Good luck! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
