I really don't understand why they made that difference so big. Maybe because the M3 became to expensive ? Thanx Compaiar, will try it without, I can allways put it back on. __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 07-13-2009, 06:48 PM | #34 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | Some pictures again, stripped the Saloon completely, also the climate control unit, that thing is huge!! Offcourse there where some satbacks again, but the engine is almost completely hooked up. The oilcooler didn't cooperate, I broke the radiator plug, the coolant reservoir didn't fit, the battery wires where to short/stiff, but thats all done now. Filled the diff with special SAF-XJ and came just a little bit to short, so I had to order it again... In 2012 it will be ready, I think... __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 07-13-2009, 06:49 PM | #35 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 07-13-2009, 06:53 PM | #36 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 07-13-2009, 06:59 PM | #37 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | looks like you're really starting to make some good progress | | | 08-17-2009, 07:22 PM | #38 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 09-20-2009, 03:21 PM | #39 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 09-20-2009, 03:22 PM | #40 | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Netherlands Posts: 93 | __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | 09-20-2009, 05:55 PM | #41 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | awesome man, congrats | | | 09-20-2009, 06:08 PM | #42 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Wow man! On that small connector, the only wire you needed was the red/grey one. That feeds the oil temperature. You can swap the cluster in from the M3, and then wire up the oil temp that way. If you had a 96 TI with traction control, you can likely swap the ABS dme from the M3 in, and either re-wire the ABS pump, or use the M3 pump and adjust the wires. Going from 4 channel in the TI to a 3 channel system is not too hard. Email if you want details. We have two of these running around chicago, one S50B30, one S50B32. I think, but I could be wrong that all he needed to do was to pop off the output flanges of his axles (driveshafts in his words) and swap the flanges from his original diff. But I could be wrong. Certainly a whole MZ3 rear subframe, T/A, brakes/diff is the simplest solution, and gains a full cm in track, with brake upgrade appropriate for his new ride. Great job, with ALL the euro trim since you had the donor car! If you're in the US and want to do this, I have several of these engines in my warehouse, and the economy has been.... well you know!
