You can use the Z3 Diff with Z3 or E30 half shafts.

Take the rear section of the TI drive shaft, and the front section of the M3 drive shaft and put them together. Have it balanced before installation.

I don't know if the second part of the Ti drive-shaft fits the M3 drive-shaft.
And will the Ti drive-shaft handle the 321hp ?

This is a picture of the M3 drive-shaft, how can I sepparate the first and second part, there is no bolt

A small update with some pictures, I didn't make much progression, but I bougt a few extra toy's.

Z3 M Differential (LSD 3.15)
Z3 M Stabilizer rear
Z3 3.0 Exhaust OEM




I needed to move the heat regulator, it was stuck between the intake and power brake unit. It has now enough space, just a little bit down.



The steering oil pipes where also a problem, because I bought a RHD.
We modified the Compact pipes for the 6-cilinder.



Does anybody know the Ti hubsize from the halfshaft to the wheel ? Is this te same size as an M3 ?

The rearbrakes from the M3 don't fit, so I think I'll have to buy Z3 M trailing arms and probably halfshafts to.

If you get the MZ3 trailing arms, you can use the M3 rotors on them. The calipers may be different. Do you mean the spline size on the shafts, or the size of the rear hub itself? I would suggest getting MZ3 shafts and arms due to the amount of power your engine is going to be putting out. We're able to get away with e30 parts on this side of the pond, but I wouldn't do that with your car.

Some M3 drive shafts have a 4 bolt rear flange, some have a 6 bolt flange. I wouldn't mate two different shafts together unless you plan on having it rebalanced. And the power issue comes up again trying to use a ti shaft.

Also, can you post a picture of the connector you are talking about?

Pretty sure the MZ3 comes with a similar drive shaft since it has a four bolt pinion. We run M3 engines all the time with the TI driveshaft, but we're only 240hp on this side of the pond, so you'll have to decide for yourself.

I can't find the MZ3 shafts, the M3 shafts are te same but a little longer. Hope they will fit or else make them a little shorter.

I don't know if I can take the M3 drive shaft apart and put the second part of the Ti driveshaft on.

The difference is very big also, the Ti driveshaft is very tiny and the construction of the M3 driveshaft is very big and strong.
Maybe I can make a kind of spacer/adapter from the 6-bolts drive-shaft to the 4-bolds input flanche on the diff.

I got the Z3 3.0 exhaust, it fits perfectly on the Ti.
Just have to welt it to the M3 midpipes and it's done






What about the difference between the temperature sensor from the Ti and M3 ?
The Ti uses a flat and big sensor in the left brake-duct, the M3 has a pin inside the right brake-duct;

Does the US version have a carbonated air filter ?
The M3 has the filter in the trunk, can I just delete it ?





Those are the connectors we where talking about, for the people who wants to know.
The Ti has only 1 engine connector, the big one with 25 pins.
The M3 has also a second connector, smaller with 12 pins (just 3 pins are used on my donor M3)

edit : to answer your questions,

the brake ducts, I don't recall exactly but that is part of the body harness, is it not? if so, just use your Ti brake duct as before. If it is an engine harness thing, use the M3 ducting.

I have no idea what that filter is... not sure if ive seen it or know its actual function. Not even going to try to guess what you should or shouldn't do with it.

as far as I know, you can use an M3 4-bolt shaft, and extend it? I followed an M52 swap thread and thats what he did, but I could be wrong.

Specially for you Philly

I think the carbonated filter is for the fuel-fumes, it takes the fumes from the fuel tank and leads it to the intake manifold.
With my 4-cilinder it was just next to the intake manifold, don't you guys have this on the US Ti ?

The extra temperature sensor seems to be from the boardcomputer.





The exhaust is for an 316i, the 100hp 1.6 engine, not interesting for the US I guess
