Ok, when I pull the knob for the parking lights, the turn signal light comes on too, and I have no reverse lights. Can anyone help? __________________

I replaced the bulbs with the exact replacements. My dad just said he thinks there is a short with the turn signals because when the running lights are on the rear turn signal and side marker stays on and it blinks rapidly like there is a shot bulb... __________________

I would go with checking the bulbs. I dont think a short would cause all of that to happen. The only other way would be that someone wired it wrong. But you could tell that by looking at the wires for any no factory work. __________________

bad bulbs wouldn't cause the issue he's seeing. Unless he messed with the wiring harness to install some weird bulb, replacing what's there wouldn't cause the issue. If the bulb shorts out the plug, then it may just blow a fuse. If the bulb is in incorrectly but doesn't short, then it just won't cut on.
It seems like the problem you're having is with your rear lights. If you do a search, you'll find several posts about the wire harness in the rear fraying around the hatch.
