Posts: 3,156 | Not all season, but I have gone through a few sets of Dunlop DZ101's and I like those. Cheap, long wearing and grippy. I have also had Michelins and Toyo Proxes before and these are the cheapest, and best 'all around' of the lot. For a 'summer car' or the 'summer tire set' fr those who drive in snow. Excellent in snow with the installation of tire chains... | | | 08-30-2012, 09:35 PM | #17 | Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Mesa, AZ Posts: 38 | Hi everyone, I just got 17" matte black wheels for my ti and I'm not quite sure which brand tire to go with. I live in Arizona, so we don't get any snow, the lowest temperature I've experience in the last 6 years since I bought my ti was 28degreesF and highest 122degreesF. I found a really good deal at a small tire shop for some Hercules Raptis WR1 (225/45/17) at $409 installed, balanced & pro-rated warranty. I currenlty have the 15" stock rims that came with the car when I purchased it from the 2nd owner. Seeing I'm going to a bigger wheel size, I wanted to see if tire brand would make a difference. What do you guys recommend? Thank you! __________________ *CrYsTaL* I L.O.V.E. my Bimmer!!! | | | 08-30-2012, 09:53 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Miami, Florida Posts: 483 | I personally like Dunlops and had them on my r32. They are really really sticky and lasted me about 40K miles with lots of launches. Also like TOYO Proxes but these wear out as well, had them a while back on a VW. It depends on the wheel setup you have as to which tires looks best, if this is your goal. Some have beefier looks than others. __________________ | | | 08-30-2012, 11:05 PM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Tulsa, OK Posts: 252 | I love my Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 tires, the're soft, grippy, ride smooth and work pretty well in all conditions. __________________ 1996 318ti base: m44, 5 spd, lsd - 18x8 bremmer kraft wheels w/sumitumo tires 225/40R18 & bmw locking lug studs, 10mm spacers in rear, halo headlights, cold air intake, koni str.t struts and shocks w/mounts, h&r sport springs, serp belts, control arm & tie rod kits, front sway bar links, JVC kd-x50bt headunit w/ipod hook up in the glove box, alpine sps-500(front and rear), jl audio 10" powerwedge max, jl audio 250.1 amp, motor mounts, fuel filter, passenger side window motor, drivers lower window run, muffler hanger kit, various interior bulbs, left door striker/ajar switch, lower hood latches, changed from gray vinal to black leather shift and parking brake boots, m3 weighted shift knob, ngk-r spark plugs, magnecor spark plug wires(blue),new cabin micro-filters,new headliner & a-pillar mouldings, 5w20 synth-blend oil and filter, BG Ultra Guard syn. rear end fluid & ls additive, BG Syncro Shift II syn. manual trans fluids, stainless steel braided brake lines and dot 4 fluid, extra brake light mod, new p/s reservoir and rubber hoses need to do - fix door panels, paint job, MORE MONEY!! | | | 09-02-2012, 12:24 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I'm running Toyo Exstensa HP on my ti and my E46, my mom also has them on her E46, they're a great tire for a daily driver, good wet and dry traction and they aren't loud | | | 09-02-2012, 06:39 AM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Reading, PA Posts: 140 | I'm a big fan of federal 595 super steels. Very cheap for the awesome performance. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
