Default *Sighs* such a sad day

Two days ago my girlfriend and I went to have a good time out in Ybor City. I went to take her home and on the way there, I was going to make a right turn on I-275 when a car happen to drive by on the opposite lane. I ran the red light so it was my fault. And yes I was sober, no substances involved, and I went and hit the car on the rear wheel on the right side. I took more damage than her obviously, so now it is sitting in the towing company so that my insurance can inspect whether it is worth fixing or not. Well, at least nobody got hurt and everyone came out fine.

sorry to hear that, judging by how far over the bumper is I'm thinking it's going to be totaled

Possibly. I won't hear the final verdict until next week when they come in. Back to car hunting again.....

Also the 3rd pic the car beside it, not the oldsmobile, is the one I hit.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. The main thing is that no one was hurt. The car is replaceable. Keep your head up!

totaled. Frame looked tweaked in the front, just BARELY

Either way, without frame damage, it would still be totaled.

Just looking at it now, I had just gotten through the loss of my brother 2 months ago from a motorcycle accident. It's ironic how we got into the same situation, except I'm still here and I went half the speed limit he did. I sat down when we had gotten to my girlfriend's house and I started crying thinking about him. At that moment, the car didn't matter.

On top of it all, he had helped me buy it since I was head over heels when I first looked at it last year and it was my first car stick. Eventually I had payed him back all the money. Oh well, I had to get rid of that car eventually, but not like this though.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your concern. I will let you all know what the final verdict is when the inspector from Allstate (since that is my insurance) lets me know if the car is worth fixing or not.

My brother was just about to be 23 this year and that night he got into the accident he was going to get his private pilot's license the next day. He was attending Embry Riddle since my mom's boyfriend recommended to him since his daughter went there. Sad how he was in the Marines for 4 years and did 3 tours in Iraq and physically he made it out fine, but gets killed when he comes back home from his last tour a year later.

Motorcycles are dangerous...... Sorry to hear about your brother and your car. You should never ever run red or yellow lights because of instances like this. Unfortunately you had to learn this way. At least no one was injured in your collision and I'm sure you'll find your next vehicle soon!

Good luck on the hunt.

Thing is I was always careful when I'm driving, especially if I have a passenger with me. I don't know what got to me that night, but all I know is that I am never pulling a stunt like that ever again. I had wanted a motorcycle before the incident with my brother since he had been wanting me to get my motorcycle endorsement so he can teach me. With all of that happening, I am never considering getting a bike at all.

From what his room mate told me, he had went out without a helmet and it is very odd because he always had a helmet on before he rides out. He went out to a bar with some "friends" and those geniuses let him ride off drunk. And I guess he fell asleep and sped up so much he hit a lady who was apparently coming out of some gas station or something. He was just a few blocks away from coming home.

Be glad of two things, you are ok, and you did not hurt anyone else. Car accidents can literally change your life from good to torture in a heart beat. Cars can be replaced, people can not.

As to the car, ahhh, it will buff right out!

This is what I did to the lady's car that I hit. As you can see, not alot of damage compared to mine.
