Default Drilling holes for front license plate

Hey, so I want to mount my front plate off to the side to further expose the beauty of an M-technic front end. Has anyone done this or could someone offer me a bit of advice. I plan on drilling into the black plastic molding, will this work?

Thanks for the advice, I really don't want to screw up my car!

you might have to pop something into the trim piece to hold the screws for the plate.

I've seen something that screws into the tow hook that supports license plates for Minis.
It might work on the ti.

that DIY one looks terrible I'd recommend one of the pre-built ones, I know they have them for the E36 too but I can't remember the site unfortunately

EDIT: lol, read page 4 of the DIY thread, the guy slashed his leg open walking into it

also, I managed to find the place with the E36 version in that thread:

I know it's wrong for to me laughing so loud that my eyes are watering.
I don't get it. You spend 10s of thousands of dollar on a car and try to rig it.
