Thanks a bunch....QUOTE].. ............................................................. Solution Untill I Can Buy part next week. I unplugged the hose and plugged it with a 3/8th hex socket I had lying up in the ole tool box. took the "Bimster" out for a spin and NO HIGH PITCHED SOUND. I'm hoping this wont do any "Bad" damage to the car untill I can get it fixed. I cant believe the price for one CRANKCASE VENTELATION BREATHER on some of these web sites. | | | 02-14-2009, 06:37 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | +1 for the crankcase vent valve. Mine was hissing at me. I took my old one off, it was all broken up. I put the new one on, and my car was like new again. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 02-15-2009, 03:27 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Sunbury PA 17801 (The 570) Posts: 104 | Im pretty sure mine is bad too. It whistles real loud. (the whisle goes "WOOOOOO" lol ) When i start my car, it almost reminds me of some of the horrible stereo installs I've heard in the past, where the stereo makes a whistling sound with the engine RPM's because the ground source was terribad. __________________ WTB: 17 inch Milli Miglia MM-II's with proper fitment for a ti | | | 03-13-2009, 02:46 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: California Posts: 48 | Quote: Originally Posted by ffg4th Ok Here's the deal.. This is a minor fix and very bad for your engine! The pressure building up can bust a head. I went to the dealer for the part @$80. In the meantime, disconnect the hose that goes to the valve. You might smell gas fumes. This is the whole point of the system; to send unburnt fumes back into the engine for re-burning. Stupid emissions. Oh well, we can't fight the ozone. Get a new gasket for it while you're at it. It's just a paper gasket. Be mindful of the torque on those screws as well. They don't have to be super tight. | | | 03-23-2009, 08:04 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Louisiana Posts: 1,093 | i have this turbo sound under my hood when i give it gas it gets louder and when i let off it stays ata constant turbo spool (sounds cool) but its it my valve gone bad to ? how do i check the valve? __________________ was the 1 an only Bagged Ti on 19's!! | | | 03-23-2009, 04:58 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Quote: Originally Posted by dguzzardo22 i have this turbo sound under my hood when i give it gas it gets louder and when i let off it stays ata constant turbo spool (sounds cool) but its it my valve gone bad to ? how do i check the valve? | You can easily check the valve by taking it off (just two allen screws on the bottom. Just take it off look at the bottom of it to see if anything is broken. It could also by hissing at you. There is a little hole on the top of it that vents air. If it hisses while you are at idle, then that is more than likely the problem. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
