Hey there, i have a 1998 m52 2.5 L engine sitting in the hatch of my 318ti. my dd got totaled today so i have to start driving the bmw, so no swap for me. the m52 comes with:
engine (complete)
wiring harness
gauge cluster
dme with ews delete already!
extra coils
the water pump and thermostat are off, but i have both (a 67* thermostat at that)
needs a water pump pulley but the pump is new.
ebay headers.
i bought the engine alone for 600 and will let it go with everything for that as i need my car on dd status asap. i put it here for sale because the ews delete already.

So this is an 2.5L M52 from a 323? Not a 2.8L from a 328? __________________ ~Dave~

Sorry to hear about the swap abort.
I need to do a swap, and have the $600 and the hoist. When can you come over?
Seriously wish you were closer. I've loaded/unloaded a bare M20 by hand but I was a bit younger then.

Djazz, I was so excited when I read your post, then I saw Texas. I almost cried a little, I am so uneasy driving the car with the engine in the hatch. Sorry. Bad joke. If I had time I'd say meet in Memphis or Jackson. Wife's family is in between there so I could almost wing it. Everyone here thinks their E36 is made of titanium or something. In fact there are a few E39 M62s and M52s available cheaper than the E36s. One guy is advertising a wrecked E39 "535i" with six year old replacement motor with low mileage (waiting on more details) and newer tranny for $1000. I would almost bite but mpg and saving money in general is one of the main points in this car.  I hope things work out for the best, however that is. dj
