Not really sure where to post this but I was just wondering what you think my car is worth. Sold a mini becase I thought I was moving and got the 318ti but didnt work out. I love the 318 but miss my mini. Its a 1995 bmw 318ti base i think. 112k miles with no problems. Power windows/mirrors. ABS. Airbags and AC. Pretty sure the stereo in it is worth more than the car. Alpine 7996 deck($1300), 3 xtant amps x1001 ($1200), a x604 ($1200), and a xtant 1.1 ($300). alpine 5.1 surround sound processor ($600), full size center channel MB quart Premium series 6.5 in ($100), video switcher ($200), 2 Alpine 6.5in screens ($600 each), Rockford 10 in sub HX2 ($449), Rear view camera ($100). Over $6600 just in major stereo parts not including labor on custom installs. Over $8000 with labor. I dont have up to date pics yet but im working on it. | | | 11-04-2004, 06:17 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Kinda depends on how deeply integrated the audio/video components are. Can you remove the components w/o big voids in the interior? You will no doubt have an easier time selling the car seperate from all that audio gear, unless you take a big loss. I would guess the car is worth around $6000 but there are better tools to judge that by- autotrader, edmunds, etc. Did you put the rear view camera in there? Sounds cool but I have no idea why you need it on a 12 ft long car- unless your neck is broken. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-04-2004, 06:38 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: oregon Posts: 15 | It can all be removed without big voids but all the stuff was cutsom fitted to fit the car. And I just put the camera in because I could. So now when I open the trunk you can see yourself walk by :-p . So you think its worth 6k with or without the stereo? | | | 11-04-2004, 07:24 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | I would say 6k without the stereo if it's in good/very good shape, does not need any repairs, etc. But that's just a guess on my part. If you do part out the stereo bimmerforums.com would be a good palce to start the sale. Sounds like a quality setup. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-18-2004, 08:34 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Seattle Posts: 19 | I'd take as much of the stereo stuff out as you can and sell it for $6k. Most people don't care about fancy stereos, and it may even turn people away. Not to mention that you will NEVER get your money back if you sell the stereo with the car, the same goes for mods. Unless it's so p1mp that people will buy it for the stereo, not the car. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
