I have a 1996 green 3.18ti that I have been driving for about a year and a half. I have decided to invest in a radar detector (probably a V1) after my last speeding ticket, especially now that the CHP has just been swarming all over California. It seems that because of the state budget being totally hosed, the police have realized that they need to write a butt load of tickets if they want to keep their budgets. I want to hard wire the power in for the radar detector. What is the best place to mount the radar detector in the 3.18 and are there any easy points to tap into for power? | | | 04-18-2009, 09:11 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Southern California - Orange county Posts: 978 | you can use the cig lighter but if you do the ignition will not shut it off its constant power reguardless if the key is in the car __________________ 1995 318ti Cosmos Black Bilsteins w/ H&R Sport, Depos w/ angeleyes and HID 5K, 50% short throw kit, Custom fogged intake, AC schnitzer pedels w/ deadpedels, leather stickshift knob, vitesse tuning Ebreak boot w/ shift boot, X-Brace, 325/328 brake upgrade, Gray millpoint leather and cloth interior, custom computer multimedia system, and Style 5 BBS 17" rims, M3 Mirrors, CF Hood | | | 04-20-2009, 06:33 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Rocky Mountains Posts: 610 | Hi! | | | 04-20-2009, 05:35 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | http://www.mz3.net/articles/109.html Quote: Originally Posted by stidf Hi everyone I'm new here.
