We are under a blizzard warning. 7-14 inches of new snow expected tonight. We got about 6" last night too. Gotta love Wisconsin... Quote: THE BLIZZARD WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SUNDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY OVERSPREAD ALL OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN THIS EVENING. AREAS FROM MARQUETTE THROUGH OZAUKEE COUNTY AND POINTS NORTH WILL SEE THE SNOW KICK IN THE LAST DUE TO LINGERING DRY AIR... BUT THE REST OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN WILL SEE SNOW DEVELOP RAPIDLY THIS EVENING. SOME SLEET MAY BE MIXED IN WITH THE SNOW AT TIMES. THE SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY TONIGHT. SNOWFALL EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY WILL BE IN THE 7 TO 14 INCH RANGE. IN ADDITION...STRONG EAST WINDS WILL GUST TO 40 MPH AT TIMES RESULTING IN BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH VISIBILITIES REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. A BLIZZARD WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS OR FREQUENT GUSTS OF 35 MPH OR MORE WILL COMBINE WITH FALLING AND/OR BLOWING SNOW TO RESULT IN NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS WITH VISIBILITIES AROUND 1/4 MILE OR LESS FOR 3 HOURS OR MORE. THIS WILL BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU LEAVE THE SAFETY OF INDOORS...YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK. TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED TONIGHT AND SUNDAY.* | I have dinner reservations at 8pm tonight. I bet the drive downtown is going to great. I should be charging the city for my plow service. Having 4" of ground clearance makes driving in a foot of snow a lot of fun. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 02-24-2007, 11:26 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | We have a storm coming too. I finally got my car out from the snow and ice. I need to get my fluids replaced and car teched. Plus some tranny work. Just put on my track pads so it's one less thing I need to do at the track. Never bothered with snows since I have my E30. I have a feeling I'll be sliding around a bit on the way to VIR this weekend. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-24-2007, 11:30 PM | #3 | doesn't care about you. I got those IE studs to replace the wheel bolts, so swapping tires is going to be so much easier now. What are you running for track pads? I need something more aggressive than the Axxis Ultimates that I'm running now. Do you run stock rear pads? I need to order some ATE racing blue and flush/bleed my brakes soon too. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 02-24-2007, 11:31 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | mid 70s here. sunny light breeze Florida would be nice..if it weren't for the taxes, insurance, fires, storms, illegals, criminals.... | | | 02-24-2007, 11:42 PM | #5 | doesn't care about you. I used XP8 up front and Bobcats or Ultimates in the rear. I went through the rears in no time. Street - Carbotech Bobcats front and rear. Best pad I've found so far. Have them on the MINI and E30. Edit: I liked visiting Wisconsin. Oshkosh to be specific. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-24-2007, 11:58 PM | #7 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Aaaaahhh... Wisconsin. I spent a couple of weeks there in 1994 or 1995 officiating the SuperWeek bicycle race series. It was hot as a muthah then. And, my bicycle was made in Waterford, due west of Racine, I think. I've also been to a few places when I had a road gig. The only one I can remember is Fish Creek, but we probably played a few casinos too. JMJ __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! BTW, speaking of Wisconsin, I saw a blue AT 318ti with Wisconsin plates in an FSU parking lot yesterday. I left a note on the windshield. | | | 02-25-2007, 05:32 PM | #14 | doesn't care about you. The extended forecast shows snow for the next 7 days! I might need to get the blizzaks replaced on the rear of car. They are down to the all-season tread. The news said there were 7 deaths in Wisconsin last night from traffic accidents. These are calling this a "mid latitude cyclone", something about a comma shaped spinning storm... __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 02-25-2007, 10:36 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fort Riley, KS <-> Haverhill, MA Posts: 91 | It snowed here a little bit, just a dusting but, people here in KS get retarded when theres any snow on the ground. I was pissed when it got cold again, on friday it was 70 and I got outta work just in time to go play 9 holes and then yesterday its like 30 again. The weatherman claims that we got "heavy snow" last night, YOU CAN STILL SEE THE GRASS!! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
