Default WTB: 96 318ti or newer: Automatic/gear selecting lever and selector cover.

Hi -

I am looking upgrade my 1995 Ti auto shift knob but I need a 1996 or newer lever so the knob I want will fit.

I want to buy the parts listed below:

1996 318ti or newer:

- Automatic/gear selecting lever
- Automatic selector cover

I bought a used Auto knob for a 97-on E36.

Instead of replacing the selector arm with one from a newer model, I cut about 1cm below the fork in the selector arm and installed the knob with some contact cement. It works just like the ugly “T” handle but looks a whole lot better.

I understand if you replace the whole selector arm, this deletes the use of the brake peddle safety lock switch in the auto selector.
