Ballpark Price - What's Reasonable? I finally took my '96 in to a shop in Cary, an indy called MPowered Automotive. It really needs to have the crank position sensor replaced, but the tech gave me a couple other things that he would like to take care of now, and some things to keep an eye on for the future. I am leaving for boot camp in May, so I really just need to keep the car going until then. Urgent: -Crank position sensor (pulse generator) -Fuel filter looks very old and the rubber lines are dry and cracking -Breather hoses under the dash are very old and in pretty bad shape I agree with pretty much all of these. What would be a reasonable price to fix all three? The guy who runs the joint is going to call me soon to ask what I want to have done and work up a quote for me. Not urgent: -Power steering hoses need replaced -Oil pan gasket needs replaced Considering I have been under the car quite a bit, everything he says seems to be true from what I have seen. Thanks! |
