Do you have the M3 bumper or stock 318 bumper?

A factory lip wont fit on a non-M bumper. You need to find an aftermarket one that was made for the base model bumper.

What he said. There have been a few people thought who made the M3 lip fit on the stock bumper with a few modifications, but I don't think it would look right. The only lips I can think of for you are the Rieger lip or Racing Dynamics if they still make it.

Get the aftermarket Mtec bumper and it will include the lip too. You can find it on bfc group buy or ebay. If just a lip then search on ebay or internet for some pics. I saw some cheaper alternatives around. Coming out this spring for a local meet?

I think you're talking about this lip(#23 in the diagram):

But you have this bumper, so it won't fit.

These will fit your current bumper:
EbayE36FrontLip$90
EbayE36CarbonLip$400
EbayE36CarbonLip$400
EbayE36CarbonLip$462
EbayE36FrontLip$125
EbayE36LowerLip$125

Or you could just get one of these and be cool like the rest of us:
EbayM3FrontBumper1
EbayM3FrontBumper2
EbayM3FrontBumper3
EbayRiegerM3Lip

cdonahue, you can find a cheaper front regular stock bumper at the local salvage yard or from one of the member here.

What I need, (as I cleared up when I corrected myself) is in fact the whole piece.
I expected to find a stock one that someone here had either from parting out their car or had replaced with a nicer one.
I appreciate everyone's help, and I have been checking out all the links people have left, in search of something that is not too expensive.

Hello -

Look at my pics. I got the M3 style bumper(4door) off of ebay for $300 delivered. I added the splitters later but it looks good without them. The fit was perfect.

If you end up going with the M3 style bumper, the brake ducts will not fit from the stock bumper but you can go with out them or buy both for about $40.
